Halloween Bunco Party!

Happy Sunday!

I had a blast last night with my friends as I hosted my first ever Halloween themed Bunco Party!! For those who do’t know what bunco is it is a dice game that it based PURELY on straight luck.  There is no tactics you can take to ensure you win, it literally is all in how the dice lands!  There are some formal proper rules to the game but by the time we got around to actually playing it we had a little too much of my “Blood Sangria” that we just sort of did our own thing, and had a blast just the same.

Marinating Meltdown

Hey!

So the story I have tonight started around 4:22PM EST when I realized that I FORGOT to start marinating the chicken I wanted to cook for dinner tonight.  I even was proactive and prepared the marinade the night before so literally all I had to do was dump the chicken in the same ziplock bag this AM before leaving for work.  Well it didn’t happen, epic fail right?  So I had an internal mini meltdown and quickly texted my husband to put the chicken in the bag and throw it back in the fridge, which he did so I took a breath of relief and hoped those chicken breasts would absorb the most flavor possible before I had to start cooking them.  Thankfully they did and I didn’t need to stress out after all. Yay!

I Artichoke-Ya!

Hi!!!

No worries my title isn’t a threat, no need to get offended, I am just in a silly mood tonight and have these artichokes that I need to use so I have artichokes on the brain.  I was thinking about these things all day and tried to figure out how to add them to the chicken i was going to cook tonight.  Artichokes are pretty easy to use since they pretty much take on the flavor of whatever you add them to I feel, while at the same time making your meal feel all fancy 🙂  In the end I had an easy time doing this so I was thrilled about that considering I got home from work a little later than usual today.  Hope your week is going well.  Almost time for the weekend!  Hang in there!

Sweet Sunday Start

Happy Weekend!!

Hope you having a great one so far.  Sunday’s can be a bit depressing as it marks the end of the weekend and looming is the start of another work week just hours away.  I like to alway try and put the FUN in Sunday FUN-day because why not enjoy the last bits of freedom before you’re called back to your work desk and office.  Also I count this day as my “cheat” day so the diet is OUT the window.  If you’re looking for a somewhat calorie free meal then stop reading, however you KNOW you’re intrigued to continue.  I usually like a more savory breakfast but today I indulged my sweet tooth with this fall inspired french toast.  A nap was definitely needed after.  Enjoy your day! 🙂

Fall Cravings

Hi!

Besides my crockpot I love using my dutch oven.  It’s like another form of a crockpot that doesn’t have to be plugged in.  When I use it I feel like I am cheating on my crockpot a little bit but sorry, hopefully it won’t notice 🙂

As it starts to get chilly outside I crave a nice bowl of soup.  I used to go to this restaurant with my co-workers and they had this amazing butternut squash soup menu item with mini goat cheese grilled sandwiches.  Well I have since switched jobs and have missed that dish so I decided to make my own version and give it an italian spin, naturally.  It fulfilled my craving and also turned out to be super easy which is always a plus.
