Caprese Salad (Antipasti!)

I make this as an antipasti or “appetizer” on Sunday’s to keep my husband at bay while I am finishing up cooking my gravy, yes I call it gravy 🙂  However this can be a great appetizer to any meal.

What You Will Need:
1 Package of your favorite Mozzarella, Sliced
1 Large Tomato, Sliced
Balsamic Vinegar (amount varies)
Olive Oil (amount Varies)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
1 tsb garlic powder
Fresh Basil (optional)

Assemble the tomato slices around in a serving dish then top each slice with the slices of mozzarella.  Drizzle the dish with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  Sprinkle with the sale, pepper, garlic, and top with basil, if using.

That’s It!  I sometimes like to cover with foil and refrigerate for an hour or so so the flavors can marinate but it also can be served right away with some fresh sliced Italian bread.
