There is often a lot of misconception that fresh sauces are too hard to make so we just end up buying jarred or pre-made. While I am not opposed to occasionally taking the easier way out there are just times when fresh is better. Below you will see how easy it is to make fresh pesto sauce and it will make you never want to buy pre-made again!!
What you will need:
1/2 cup olive oil
2 cups of fresh basil (or the equivalent of dried)
5 garlic cloves (whole)
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of pepper
1/4 cup of parmesan cheese
Tools:
Food processor
Ok ready….throw everything in the food processor…pulse until you have a sauce consistency…THATS IT!!!
You should taste it to see if you need to add a dash of additional salt, pepper, or parmesan if you would like. Also if the sauce is still too thick add a tad more olive oil or thin it out so it fully coats everything. This makes about 2 cups so perfect for a pound of pasta.
I used it on Raviolis 🙂
Enjoy!!
