Sausage Penne w/ Chive Basil Sauce

This tasty sauce originated from me needing to use up some fresh chives.

What You Will Need:
1 Lb Penne Pasta
1 Package of Italian Sausage
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
5 Stalks of Fresh Chives, Chopped
4 Tbsp Olive Oil, Divided
4 Garlic Cloves
2 Tbsp Dried Basil
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Pepper
1 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese

First your going to prepare the sauce.  In a food processor combine 3 Tbsp of olive oil, chives, garlic, basil, salt, pepper, parmesan cheese and pulse until it becomes a sauce like consistency, then set aside.

Start cooking the pasta according to the instructions.  While that is cooking heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan over med-high heat.  Throw the chopped onion in the pan and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Split each sausage open, remove the insides and toss in the pan with the onion and while cooking split up the sausage with your spoon to form crumbles.  By now the pasta should be done so strain it and toss it into the pan with the sausage and onion.  Mix with the chive basil sauce.
